Most concrete patios are just slabs. Flat, plain, and done. There's nothing wrong with that - but it's also a missed opportunity. A little extra detail at the edges goes a long way, and that's exactly what we did here.

We finished this patio with a darker colored border running the full perimeter. It's a clean, simple detail that separates the field from the edge and gives the whole slab a more intentional look. The kind of thing you notice right away - even if you can't immediately put your finger on why it looks so good.

The surface itself is broom-finished for texture and traction, with control joints cut in a grid pattern to manage cracking over time. That's not just aesthetic - it's how you build a slab that holds up year after year. We don't skip those steps.

The footprint on this one is substantial. It wraps along two sides of the house and gives the homeowner a ton of usable backyard space - room for furniture, a grill, whatever they need. That's the whole point. A good patio shouldn't just look nice, it should actually add livable square footage to your home.

If your backyard is mostly dirt, gravel, or an old cracked slab that's seen better days, a new concrete patio is one of the most practical upgrades you can make. Durable, low maintenance, and built to last.
