60x100 Shed Floor and Apron Built for Hard Daily Use

A 60x100 concrete floor is not a small ask. That is 6,000 square feet of slab that needs to be flat, properly finished, and built to hold up under real working conditions - heavy equipment, constant foot traffic, vehicles rolling in and out. We don't take that lightly.

Here's what we were working with: a large steel pole building still in the finishing stages, with a fresh concrete interior floor and a full exterior apron poured right up to the overhead door openings. The apron is the part people often skip or underbuild. That's a mistake. It's the first surface to take abuse - equipment coming off trailers, tires grinding against the edge, water pooling if it's not done right.

The interior floor came out smooth and level across the full span of the building. The apron outside connects cleanly to the slab, giving you a seamless transition from outside to inside. Clean control joints are cut throughout - those aren't just for looks. They're there to control where the concrete cracks if it ever does, so you don't end up with random fractures running through the middle of your floor.

A slab like this is one of those things you want done right the first time. Redoing concrete is expensive and disruptive. When a shop, shed, or barn floor is poured correctly from the start, it just works - year after year, season after season, without giving you anything to think about.
